squee! those beetles are too cute

so it’s warm again. it can only mean one thing!! the FERMENTATION STATION is in full effect!! and i don’t have to wait a month to get seeds and beans to sprout.  i also have a second batch of ginger beer starter going. AND getting ready to start the kim chi. i have also obtained keifer grains. that’s that second picture. that gross caulifour lookin thing. my grains don’t look as nice. in fact they are gross. it really looks like it should be in a gynecologist’s lab. but i love feeding them and they are growing quite steadily. it also gives me a reason to buy moo milk…oh how i missed you but not necessarily the funky after taste. which leads me to my friend. he has a small but healthy colony of dermestid beetles! we aren’t the closest of friend but we geek out about plants and reptiles and i geek out with his partner about foods. so to cut to the chase we are going to do tradies grains for beetles.  and such happy beetles they will. im a happy puppy g’night cyber world

My mycelium is growing! Hopefully I can get some blue oyster mushrooms before I head west
